Market Snapshot – 23/12/2025

On 23rd December 2025, the BSE closed lower by 42 points at 85,524, while the NSE managed a marginal gain of 4 points to end at 26,177. Broader markets outperformed, with the Midcap index rising 31 points to 46,979 and the Smallcap index jumping 195 points to 51,566.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers, offloading ₹1,794 crore, whereas Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) provided strong support with net buying of ₹3,812 crore.

Brent Crude was trading around $62 per barrel. Gold prices stood at $4,494, translating to ₹1,38,419 in the domestic market, while silver was priced at ₹2,17,600. The rupee weakened slightly, with the dollar trading at ₹89.65.

The 6.33% Government Security maturing in 2035 was trading at a yield of 6.64%. The NSE 100 put–call ratio (PE) was at 22.79, and the Dollar Index was steady at 97.93.
