On 18th December 2025, the BSE closed down by 77 points at 84,481, while the NSE slipped marginally by 3 points to 25,815. Mid-cap stocks performed better, gaining 22 points to settle at 45,968, whereas small-cap stocks declined sharply by 141 points to 50,172.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers worth ₹595 crore, and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) showed strong buying of ₹2,700 crore. Brent Crude was trading at 59. Gold stood at $4,321, translating to ₹1,34,227 in INR, while silver was priced at ₹2,06,149.

The USD/INR exchange rate was at 90.24. The 6.33% 2035 Government Security was yielding 6.59%. The NSE 100 Put-Call ratio was at 22.48, and the Dollar Index stood at 98.53.
